भारतीय   संगीत   के   इतिहास   को   मोते   तौर   से   हम   तीन   भागों   में   बाँट   सकते   हैं - 1. प्राचीन काल की संगीत (Primordial- 9th Century)- Old Age Music History 2. मध्यकालीन भारत में संगीत (9th - 19th Century)- Middle Age Music History 3. आधुनिक भारत में संगीत (19th Century - till date)-Modern Age Music History प्राचीन   काल   की   संगीत  ( आदि   काल  -  9th Century) इस काल का प्रारम्भ आदि काल से माना जाता है। इस काल में चारों वेदों की रचना हुई।वेदों में सामवेद प्रारम्भ से अंत तक संगीतमय है। धीरे धीरे स्वरों की संख्या विकसित हुई। भरत नाट्यशास्त्र ,  जो 4 वीं शताब्दी ईस्वी (4th Century)  में लिखा गया था,  यह संगीत की महत्वपूर्ण पुस्तक है जिसमें संगीत को सप्तक(7) और बाईस(22) कुंजियों में विभाजित किया है। प्राचीन धारणा के अनुसार, ये बाईस श्रुतियां ही एकमात्र कुंजी हैं जो मनुष्य द्वारा बनाई जा सकती हैं, इसमें बताई हुई और भी कई मुख्य बातें आज भी प्रचार ...
